On the afternoon of June 19, at the headquarters of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on investment cooperation in the construction and operation of a Data Center, in collaboration with KCTC Vietnam Co., Ltd. and its partner, ThePRECON from South Korea.

The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, representatives from relevant departments and agencies, as well as executives from the two enterprises. Representing KCTC Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mr. Park Hyun Bae – General Director – and Mr. Oh Jung Ho – Executive Director – were present and directly signed the cooperation document.

On the part of Thai Nguyen Province, the provincial leaders committed to providing maximum support during the implementation of the project, particularly in legal procedures, land allocation, stable power supply, and infrastructure connectivity. The province will also assist in establishing connections with domestic banks, businesses, and organizations to ensure the feasibility and effective operation of the Data Center in the future.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the three parties agreed to jointly conduct surveys, research, and promote investment in a Data Center project in Thai Nguyen, with a planned capacity of at least 20 MW and a total investment of nearly USD 200 million. In this collaboration, KCTC Vietnam will take the lead in coordination and act as the liaison with domestic resources, ensuring that the project is implemented on schedule and in accordance with international technical standards.

Earlier, in March 2025, KCTC Vietnam proactively organized a site survey in Thai Nguyen Province to assess the existing infrastructure, the potential for digital industry development, and other essential conditions for the project. Company representatives highlighted Thai Nguyen’s advantages, including available clean land, stable power and telecommunications infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and open, investment-friendly policies.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, KCTC Vietnam’s leadership reaffirmed the company’s commitment to accompanying Thai Nguyen Province in its strategy to develop digital infrastructure and drive digital transformation. The company will closely coordinate with local authorities and international partners to ensure the project is implemented effectively and sustainably.

The investment project in the Data Center in Thai Nguyen marks a strategic move by KCTC to expand into the digital infrastructure sector, contributing to the advancement of high-tech industry development in Vietnam.
